Everyone at Hurley CC is saddened to learn of the passing of Gordon Ford. Gordon played 381 matches for Hurley from 1969 to 1993, scoring 5323 runs and taking 665 wickets and 150 catches. He is the fifth highest wicket taker for the club. In 1971 he topped the bowling honours with 60 wickets. After his playing career ended, Gordon continued to support the club as an umpire and supporter. He was a regular spectator along with his wife Gill and enjoyed many weekends in their caravan at Hurley, giving him the opportunity to call in and watch the cricket while enljoying a pint and chatting with old friends. He was always willing to lend an ear and offer sound advise to younger players. He will be missed by all who knew him and our thoughts go out to Gill and the rest of the family.
